My Flatiron Experience

Hello! My name is Gabriela and I’ve just completed my final project for Flatiron Software Engineering School.

My overall experience has need a great yet challenging one . Over the course of 5 months, we covered Ruby on Rails, Sinatra, JavaScript, React and Redux. If I had to choose my favorite one to learn, I would say it was Ruby on Rails. As for the most challenging to learn, it would definitely be React. But I do have to say that after getting some practice In and working through a project, it’s amazing to see the different ways to build applications and how each one contributes.

Flatiron school was amazing for many different reasons, but I’m only going to name a few. First, the slack community is great to engage with. There are a ton of alumni, current students and instructors that you can reach out to for anything, and it’s a great way build connections . One of the things I love that a few of my classmates have done is creat a discord chat, where we share things that are helpful for coding, we can do live lectures, and more!

Flatiron school also has a great team overall. From your cohort lead, to the ask a question chat, very one is very informative, helpful, and very nice.

Last, I can’t Forget the Career services. The resources that are provided to you for job search is very helpful, and I’m thankful to have such an amazing career coach.

Overall I had a great experience attending Flatiron school, and would definitely recommend this course to someone else. Don’t get me wrong, it is not at all easy, and takes much consistency and grit, but with the support system you’re provided with , it definitely helps you move along.
